Research has shown that people prefer better sounding audio over better looking video. The whole point of participating in zoom meetings and video conferencing meetings is so that we can communicate with each other. But it can be hard to do that when the person who is speaking has a really poor audio quality. Sometimes people don’t speak loud enough or there is too much background noise. The quality of someone’s voice can be impacted as well. I am sure we have all heard someone whose voice sounds like they are in a fishbowl or their voice sounds very digital. Headphones that have microphones can be a great solution but we think you should invest in a quality external mic so you can stand out from the rest.
There are a lot of different USB microphones you can purchase but here are a few that we highly recommend.
